Dr. Michael Butterfield is a Clinical Assistant Professor at UBC with appointments in the Departments of Psychiatry and Anesthesiology, Pharmacology & Therapeutics and is the Director of the UBC Pain Medicine Residency Program.
Dr. Michael Butterfield is a Clinical Assistant Professor at UBC with appointments in the Departments of Psychiatry and Anesthesiology, Pharmacology & Therapeutics and is the Director of the UBC Pain Medicine Residency Program.
His areas of clinical interest include headache medicine, neuropathic pain, addiction medicine, procedural pain medicine and treatment resistant depression. He currently works at St. Paul’s Hospital Pain Clinic, VGH Transitional Pain Clinic, UBC Headache Clinic, and the UBC Interventional Neuropsychiatry Clinic. He is a member of several national committees in the areas of pain medicine and psychiatry and was recently awarded the Early Career Achievement in Psychiatry Award by the Canadian Psychiatric Association.
