About

Sonia Dhillon began her nursing career in 2016 and is approaching nearly 10 years in healthcare. She started in medicine and later worked in PACU and Surgical Day Care, where she built a strong foundation in perioperative and postoperative care. She currently works as a Patient Navigator for bowel surgery patients who are on ERAS pathway. She supports these patients throughout the surgical journey with a focus on education, recovery, and quality of life.

Pain management is important to Sonia because she sees firsthand how pain affects not only physical healing, but also anxiety, mobility, and a patient’s overall recovery experience. In the ERAS program, thoughtful and patient-centered pain management plays a key role in helping patients feel informed, supported, and empowered during a vulnerable time.

Through her work in ERAS program, Sonia has seen how well-managed pain supports earlier mobilization, better participation in recovery, and smoother transitions through the surgical pathway.
